For the past two months I have been on bed rest living with the fear that I could go into labor at any moment and have my babies too early. In my heart I’ve always known that they would be okay, … Continue reading
This experience has taught me that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Asking for help is a necessity in order to keep things going when life throws its twists and turns. Continue reading
We made it to 34 weeks! I’m so thankful (and pleasantly surprised) that these babies are still safe and sound in my belly. I thought it might be fun to share a baby bump comparison from when I was 34 weeks pregnant with Cole versus 34 weeks pregnant with the twins. It’s pretty easy to match the picture with the pregnancy!
Today I had a growth scan and a cervical check via ultra sound. My cervix has not started dilating and is actually still quite long. Basically, no changes from a couple of weeks ago. Still on bed rest orders, but only two more weeks to go! He said after that I can go run a marathon…quite a sense of humor Dr. Kaufman has considering I get winded just by opening up the recliner.
Update on Claire: She measures 4 pounds 3 ounces and is still head down. Her heart rate is perfect and always slightly lower than her brother’s. I can already tell that she is the calmer of the two! During the ultra sound the tech pointed out to us that she was practicing her breathing; it was so incredible to watch.
Update on Owen: He measures 4 pounds 6 ounces and flipped back around to breech position. Earlier in the week he was head down right next to his sister. This little boy is a mover and shaker and does not like to sit still! Sounds like another little boy of mine… 😉
And how am I doing? My mood is all over the place and I’m insanely uncomfortable. However, I’m nearing the finish line and I’m thankful to have the best prizes waiting for me at the end.
After the preterm labor scare we had at 28 weeks I ended up changing doctors and hospitals to make sure I had a team that could support the babies if they come early. As we were going over some details … Continue reading
Whether we see a roadblock or a bridge depends on our view on life. With a positive outlook we can turn any obstacle into a stepping stone. We met our first goal today – 30 weeks and the twins are still happy and … Continue reading
I was browsing Amazon last week and came across this fabulous maternity tee shirt. Even though it was outrageously overpriced I had to have it. Worth every penny. My bathroom breaks have turned into a motivational session with my reflection reminding me to Keep … Continue reading
I got my cervix checked again yesterday and it’s measuring longer than last week! My perinatologist explained that the cervix is a muscle that can expand based on the amount of strain it’s under. Staying off of my feet to … Continue reading
If I had the choice of where I’d like to be right now it certainly wouldn’t be in bed. Walking hand in hand with my husband down the cobblestone streets of Florence, having a picnic in the park with my … Continue reading
Today was a bit of a roller coaster ride. The first of many, I’m sure! Contractions were quiet all night and all morning and the doctor was ready to send me home on bed rest. My own bed and the … Continue reading
Surprisingly, I was able to get a couple of hours of sleep that first night in the hospital. I woke up feeling hungry, lonely, and wondering what the next steps would be. A nurse came in and told me I … Continue reading
