Hospital Bed Rest Day 3 – Rocking my compression socks

Check out my sweet new compression socks to keep the blood flowing while I’m stuck in bed! My mom jazzed up the look with some cozy blue footie socks. Actually, she put them on so I don’t slip. It’s a mom thing…

compressions socksToday was pretty uneventful which is a good thing. My blood pressure was really low when I woke up this morning so they skipped a dosage of nifedipine. It ended up being a good thing, because the contractions seem to be more under control. Now I’m able to take the medication every 6-8 hours rather than 4. As far as the babies, they looked happy and stress-free whenever their heart rates were being monitored. At one point the doctor came in and said that as long as things stay the same I will be able to move my bed rest party to my own bed at home within the next couple of days. Yippee! 🙂

Mom and Dad came for a visit today to keep me company. I’ve been spending a lot of time alone so it was nice to have the room filled with two of my favorite voices. The outpouring of support from family and friends has made me so grateful for all the wonderful people we have in our life. This road is just beginning, but I feel like we already have a team to help us all get through it. By 10:30 this morning my grandmother had already whipped up a batch of Lasagna and delivered it to my family at home. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law took Cole to a dinosaur exhibit so that Greg could get a few things done. We’ve already gotten babysitting and dinner making offers and received so many concerned check-ins. One of my friends even offered up a knitting lesson to help me keep busy! From the bottom of my heart, Greg and Cole’s hearts and the twins’ of course…thank you.
